You may or may not know that Curves has moved from Ballito to Salt Rock, right here at Tiffany’s Shopping Centre. This week, we caught up with Anthea Wilkins to find out a bit more about exactly what Curves is... and we were surprised, it is a whole lot more than “another gym”

Anthea explains that the Curves workout regime is very different to what people get at regular gyms. The typical session at Curves includes a 30 minute session with a circuit coach with everyone working out together in a class like environment (although for those that like to go at their own pace – this is totally acceptable and can be accomodated). The circuit coach is always with you, providing motivation and assisting with the correct movement and form. The coaches never miss a beat and this ensures no one gets bored (or lazy!) The workouts are changed all the time there is a great vibe and plenty of comradery.
Another great thing about Curves is that there are so many options, for a start (and we thought this was very cool) you can take a month-to-month contract, a stark contrast to other gyms.
Your workout is never boring and there is a great vibe and comradery at the gym.
Curves also have several exclusive programs. The first being the Curves Complete Program, this offers one on one coaching, online meal plans and is focused on weight loss. The program is actually very nifty, you can even print out shopping lists based on your diet plan and do meal swops, even get recommendations for what to order if you are eating out. A diet plan is tailored for you on a weekly basis with your coach and adjusted according to your needs and goals.

I've been at this for about 5 days, and I already feel a difference in my body.
Going from a size 16-18 pants to a size 6-8 proved to me that we really can re-invent ourselves. Next week, this former couch potato is running a 5K race at 50 years old. Oh, yeah!! Thank you, Jillian! :-)

I'm 46 years old and exercise every day. I alternate my exercise routine between my treadmill (60 min/day) and my Jillian Michaels exercise tapes (45-60 min/day). I don't consider myself hardcore at all...I'm overweight but enjoy exercising. Can't seem to say no to sweets. I've been doing this workout every other day now for 3 weeks. I can't believe the definition in my muscle tone. I haven't lost weight (since I indulge all the time) but I totally have a more sculpted look. I can actually see serious muscle definition in my legs, shoulder, arms, and my abs are unbelievable. I'm in shock, I keep looking at them in disbelief. My husband was astonished as well, he noticed the change and didn't even know I was doing something different. He said to me the other day, "Wow...you are so toned, you look great."
